SSIC strives to offer valuable personal care services that help seniors maintain good health. Some of these senior care services are ongoing, others are periodic.

Foot Clinics

Foot problems sometimes develop as we age. Sole cushioning can diminish, skin and nails can become dry and brittle; heal spurs, ingrown toenails and other conditions can also develop. If you or your loved one is diabetic, it becomes critical that you see a podiatrist regularly and keep feet in good condition.

Senior Services of Island County provides an opportunity for nail trimming and other interim foot services for seniors of Island County.

Blood Pressure Checks

Measuring blood pressure and keeping a record of the measurements is a good way to participate in managing your own health and recognizing changes. If you or your loved one is already taking blood pressure medication, regular checks can monitor how well the medication is working and help keep health in the forefront of life.

SSIC is host to medical professionals in the various senior centers we are associated with. Call the Senior Center nearest you for more information on current scheduling.



Medical Equipment Loan Program

If you or the person you’re caring for has a need for medical equipment, there is a loan program at Bayview Senior Center in Langley that may be able to help you. Call and tell us what you need and we’ll tell you if we have it. If so, you’re welcome to borrow it.
