For many Senior Services of Island County is a place to get help. For a growing number of people it is a place to give help.

Remaining active and involved is essential to enjoying life after retirement. Volunteering is highly satisfying work that makes a huge difference in the lives of others.

Nearly all of our programs offer opportunities to be involved through active volunteering. Some programs, such as Transportation CHORE, require an initial screening process, while others begin with downloading and completing an application and following through by contacting the program’s director who will call you for an interview.

SSIC depends greatly on volunteer assistance to carry out its mission. We operate with upwards of 250 volunteers and are always seeking those who would like to serve as:
